So we kick off my Birthday with a track off of the remix EP (re: MIX) that will be in stores at the end of the month. I initially was going to focus on the 2 remixes but so many great ones have been completed by producers over the years I decided to release a … Continued
For some people it might be a current-gen console, for others it could be an original but the question is, what’s your favorite? I’ll have to check back in with mine after I think about it. Anyway, leave a comment below and let everyone what your favorite video game console of all time is.
How many Street Fighter games have dropped now? 50? 60? Anyway, I was always a SF fan when I was younger. I played it in the arcades, played all of the various iterations of it, man I even played the crappy original. I still remember when SF2 dropped and everyone just assumed the original SF … Continued
I imagine no one woke up this morning and said, “you know what? I wish someone would take Big Trouble in Little China, put those characters in a game that looks just like Donkey kong and let me play it.” Fortunately, you can play it whether you wanted to or not and because it’s a … Continued
Finally, one of the best action games of the 16-bit era, Flashback, has just been released on XBLA, PSN and Windows with updated HD graphics in 2.5D, voice-acting, an expanded story and members of the original team. Oh and they’ve included the 1992 game so you can experience the original. I’ve always been a fan … Continued
Ok, technically this isn’t an ugly video game cover since it doesn’t suck or anything, it’s just bizarre and sort of mind-bogglingly boggling. It looks like a mid-90′s alt-rock album cover, in fact I think that’s the lead singer from Candlebox on the cover who is shedding a single tear over the demise of their … Continued
Kickstarter will hopefully be responsible for bringing a few more classic games into the era of HD. After the success of neo-retro games like Shadowrun Returns, Wasteland 2, and Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded, a new wave of franchises are currently on Kickstarter in need of mad loot, son. … Continued
The 2nd season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy is set to launch on YouTube on September 26. If you aren’t familiar with the first series, I highly recommend going to YouTube now to watch it. It’s a gritty, real-world take on the Mortal Kombat universe that focused on the back-stories for the major characters. The first … Continued
This is pretty cool. Annette Jung, an animator at the Talking Animals animation studio in Berlin has recreated the opening minute from MJ’s Thriller video using Legos. It’s a throwback, stop-motion animation that takes you back to those pre-computer days when everything was done by hand. Super dope.
I saw this a few weeks ago and forgot to post it since I saw it on my birthday and I didn’t feel like typing. CineFix has released the latest installment in their “8 Bit Cinema” series, a retelling of Blade Runner that rips off of the sprites from the SNES version of Shadowrun. It … Continued
Nintendo just announced that on October 12 they would be releasing a 2D version of the 3DS that still plays the 3DS/DS library just well, not in 3D and for some reason without the clamshell. The “fixed, slate-type form factor” seems like a step back in terms of portability and since the screens are the … Continued
I’m a huge fan of the Shin Megami Tensei Persona series and I knew they had released a few movies based off of specific games but I was surprised to find a TV series that expanded upon the events in Persona 3. I just started to watch the series but it’s well-animated and it builds … Continued
Like most high school dudes during the early to mid-90s, my musical taste was an eclectic mix of Rap, Rock, Metal, Industrial and Electronic. The irony is that MTV was probably the primary reason for our wide-spread musical acceptance. It wasn’t weird to create a mixtape that went from the Wu-Tang Clan to Beck to … Continued
