Now You Can Catch Pokémon with Google Maps

So Google Maps just launched their Pokémon Challenge that lets you use the Google Maps app for your iPhone or Android to catch a bunch of those weird little things. The whole augmented reality part in the video below is obviously a cruel April Fools’ Day joke but if you’re using your phone you can snag 150 of them and store ’em in a Pokédex. A damn Google Maps Pokédex. Oh and hurry up cuz the deadline is April 2nd.

From Google:
Dozens of wild Pokémon have taken up residence on streets, amidst forests and atop mountains throughout Google Maps.

To catch ’em all, grab your Poké Ball and the newest version of Google Maps for iPhone or Android. Then tap the search bar, “press start,” and begin your quest.

And, follow Google Maps on Google+, Facebook or Twitter for hints and tips for the most dedicated trainers.
