One of my favorite games during the 90’s, Flashback: The Quest for Identity is receiving an HD remake with better graphics, voice acting and uhm cut scenes. They’ve kept the 2D side-scrolling platformer intact, a positive for me considering most remakes/updates usually scrap the original gameplay in favor of a first-person shooter.
I remember the ads in Gamepro calling this a “CD-ROM game on a cartridge” due to amazingly smooth animation and detailed backgrounds, taking the foundation Prince of Persia laid down and turning it into a 16-bit milestone.
Ubisoft is pushing this one out with dev handled by French game-developer VectorCell, picking up where Delphine Software left off.
