At some point in the early 90’s, a few well-dressed executives gathered around a boardroom to discuss potential projects to release on video games that would generate millions more for companies and increase stock value for everyone. I imagine the meeting continued throughout the night leading one extremely inebriated individual to suggest a fighting game starring Shaquille O’Neal that revolves around traveling to another dimension through a closet in some Japanese dojo to rescue some random kid and beat up a cat woman thing. Sold.
Released in 1994, the original Shaq Fu is considered by many to be the worst interdimensional fighting game starring a former NBA player. Critics hated the game, players hated the game, the NBA hated the game, even kids in other dimensions hated the game.
Anyway, Shaq is crowdfunding a sequel to one of the worst games of all time by taking the same lame concept and improving the graphics. He has also said he would donate 5% of all profits from the game will be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. They might eventually distance themselves from this game even if they aren’t from another dimension.
Of course I could be wrong, check out this awesome bulleted list of awesome things that can potentially occur in this game:
Smells like a classic already. Oh yeah, if you support the game you potentially have the option to get some of these cool rewards:
Some of the rewards listed are kind of strange, one of them will let you Skype a music lesson with composer of the game.
